110: Cultivating a Holy Curiosity (with Andrea Craddock)

How can we foster curiosity in learners of all ages? Andrea Craddock of TeachBeyond School Services introduces us to the topic of holy curiosity and how we can integrate this into our classrooms and conversations.

  • “The important thing is not to stop questioning. Curiosity has its own reason for existing. One cannot help but be in awe when one contemplates the mysteries of eternity... Never lose a holy curiosity." - Albert Einstein
  • “Cultivating a Holy Curiosity through Social Studies” Article
  • “Looking to the world around us, words are used like ‘madness’ and ‘folly.’ We see that if we can satisfy our curiosity through God’s Word, we eventually end up in this place of transformation.”
  • “We don’t want to teach students what to think; we want to teach them how to think.”
  • “It’s a lot easier to create opportunities for the younger ones because they are so curious about life, whereas the older ones, for them it’s really more about helping them find what they’re curious about.”
  • “When a student asks a question in the classroom, you don’t just immediately give the answer.”
  • “We want them to take what it is that they are learning in the classroom and be able to apply that to life.”
  • “There’s a lot of good that comes out of curiosity, and that’s how we were made, so we want to be supporting that and fostering that.”
